A Day at the Beach...What could possibly be better? You'll see!

Saturday, 2/7/15  We started off the day with our "traditional" omelets, except they were "kicked up a notch" with the leftover shrimp picante from last night at El Rio! Yum!

We had decided this would be a perfect "beach day", however instead of heading to the beach early we used our scheduling strategy to plan our beach time so it would flow into "happy-hour time" at Karen's Place.  So after breakfast, we walked around town just to work off some of the omelets and to work up a little sweat.

Upon return from our walk, we went for a dip in "our own" private pool at the casa. I know I'm repeating myself, but you really DO feel "spoiled" relaxing in a private pool in front of a Mexican casa! We swam, relaxed, read, and chatted until it was "beach time"!

It was PERFECT beach weather: clear blue skies and hot but with a breeze. We relaxed (again), did some sunbathing, walked the beach, did some people-watching, and read. We waded in the WARM ocean water, too. We were enjoying every minute until our planned time to meet Ladd at Karen's Place for happy hour.

Bob & Sandy enjoying beach time at Bucerias

Just as Sandy and I were about to take a little snooze in the sun, Bob told us he had a surprise for us. He said, "Follow me!" Being the trusting ladies we are, we followed Bob! Let me tell you we were GLAD we trusted and followed because he led us to massage tents set up on the beach.  Bob treated us to "masajes en la Playa" at "Magic Hands Evolution Massages".   The sound of the surf crashing on the beach, the warm ocean breeze, combined with an incredible massage...wowie-zowie! This is most definitely how you spell R-E-L-A-X! As long as we're spelling, how about P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E, too??!! Thanks for the special treat, Bob!

After they poured Sandy & me off the massage tables, we met up with Bob & Ladd at happy hour at "Karen's Place". Sandy & I had our "new favorite" drink: "Mexican Kiss"...so smooth! We had such fun chatting and joking again with our favorite bar-servers: Rosa and Alex! (Thanks, Alex and Rosa!)

Rosa, otro, por favor
We also made some new Canadian friends, both long-time teachers! Lots of laughs were shared as we told our "teacher stories". Then I found out that not only did we have education in common, we also had dancing and tap dancing in common, too! We DID try out a few tap moves together next to the bar, but restrained ourselves from dancing on the bar...LOL!

Thanks, Rosa & Alex, for putting up with our silliness!

Back at "Mi Lola"...

Next it was back to the casa for showers and another excellent dinner by Chef Ladd!
You might think we'd be too tired for any other outings for this day, but we could NEVER be too tired to walk down the street to visit "our" favorite cantina: "Mi Lola"!

This was Bob's and Sandy's first visit to "Mi Lola", and we hoped they would love it as much as we do. They did! Our amigo, Mario, was there...which of course made it EVEN BETTER!

We all had different drinks, (wine, tequila, margarita, and strawberry margarita). Mario remembered my "munchies" word/request from our last visit, and made me smile from ear-to-ear when he asked if we wanted any "munchies" with our drinks! We asked for a "redo" of the fantastic queso/tortillas/sauces "munchies" we enjoyed before.  Again: yum!

The last time we visited "Mi Lola" we mentioned in our post that we met the owner outside as we were leaving. Tonight we learned his name and so, wish to include it to send a personal message. Valerio, we want to tell you what a wonderful place "Mi Lola" in Bucerias is! Every time we have been there we have had outstanding & friendly service, great food & drink, and have truly been made to feel "at home". We also want you to know, Valerio, that one of the biggest reasons for our love of "Mi Lola" is your All-Star Employee: Mario! Mario is not only a hard worker who takes customer-service seriously, he also makes his customers feel they are welcomed and special! What a gem you have in Mario!

Thanks to Mario and all the excellent Bucerias "Mi Lola" employees for another fun night and wonderful memories!
