Senor Iguana Returns

Tuesday, 1/20/15   The air-conditioning installers were supposed to arrive at 8 AM, so we were up early. We should have remembered the theme "mañana" (doesn't = tomorrow) It means NOT TODAY...LOL! They were a no-show.

But the doorbell rang, and in their place came our Canadian friends, Karen and Glen, that we met at Sayulita. They are staying at a resort a short distance from the casa. We showed them around "Casa Lucia", and chatted with them for awhile. They are easy to feel comfortable with and fun to be with. We are planning to get together with them again before they must leave to return to Canada.

As we were having our brunch omelets, what did Ladd spot but the return of "Senor Iguana" outside the glass doors. This time he was "Dare-Devil Iguana" doing his high-wire act on the telephone lines! Amazing balance and great brunch entertainment!

Then Ladd and I headed back to Puerto Vallarta to walk the other half of the malecon we did not get to last visit. Lots of sculptures, shops, restaurants, street performers, beautiful scenery at this end, too!

On our way back to the casa, we stopped at Wal Mart's JUST to get a bag of ice cubes. The man who offered to show us how to get the bag of ice cubes ended up bending our ears about a visit to a resort time-share. Since we realize they make their living on tourists, and since we feel sad we don't speak Spanish, we tend to be very soft touches. He talked and talked, and we stayed and stayed...as our ice cubes melted. Finally, when he asked for money for a "deposit" for this presentation, we left. Live and learn! Think we'll be going to "Mega" more now for supplies!
